Welcome classmates!
You’re here because you were told to be here. You’re here because this is a part of your task. You’re here because this will be your life. You’re here because you want to read about what’s going on with your classmate. Well, let me tell yah, a lot is going on.
I feel old. This cold rainy weather in California just ain’t cutting it with my old ankle injury from when I used to play field hockey in high school. It hurts when it’s cold. I’m an emotional woman who enjoys drinking her iced matcha latte (not from Starbucks, i’m a Peets Coffee girl) with soy milk because I’m lactose intolerant every morning. But I’m told I need to cut back, so I have to settle with peppermint tea on some days.
You may be wondering why I even need something like those to start my morning. I work for a law firm. I think that’s enough explanation… sometimes we’re busy and sometimes we have down time, but mentally, you need to be prepared for anything to happen. So, that’s why it’s especially important to have crying sessions. And your iced matcha lattes…
Because how will we keep surviving in this crazy legal life?
You don’t.
You either sink or swim.
I complain, I yell at my boss, get yelled at by my boss, get yelled at by clients, start fights with coworkers, pretend all is well when HR checks in, develop an Amazon shopping addiction, it’s rough out here for your gal paralegal!
I told you, a lot is going on.
This is the paralegal life.
Welcome to my crying sessions.
If you’re trying to navigate through the work life, we’ll get along just great.
